This is a work by Touyu Takeuchi, a traditional craftsman of Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki. A powerfully flying crane and a leisurely walking turtle are hand-painted on each piece. The word "Fukuju" (happiness and longevity) is written on the inside (the outer design is the same for both, with the inner letters in red and blue). These are shallow, wide rice bowls that make the rice look beautiful. The capacity is about 320cc for the larger one and 220cc for the smaller one, when filled to the brim.
