Hinoharu Whiskey "Souyoku"
ANA Original Japanese Whiskey uses only the malt of rare domestic barley contracted and cultivated in Ibaraki Prefecture. The raw liquor distilled at Kiuchi Brewery's Yasato Distillery is aged in bourbon barrels and then further aged in sherry casks. This is the first time this raw liquor, which is not sold on the market, has been unveiled, and it is a special whiskey with a limited production of 300 bottles.
Currently, most of the barley (malt) for beer is imported, but Kiuchi Brewery purchases all of the "Kaneko Golden," a Japanese native barley for beer that was bred in the Meiji era and is now a phantom, from Naka Agris, an agricultural corporation that has revived it, and manufactures beer and whiskey. The Yasato area of Ishioka City, Ibaraki Prefecture, where the distillery is located, is located at the foot of Mt. Tsukuba, and this area has an abundance of high-quality water from the Mt. Tsukuba water system. This single malt whiskey is characterized by its rich aroma that lingers and spreads like wings soaring in the blue sky, which is also the origin of the product name "Souyoku" (blue wings), and its full-bodied flavor derived from domestic malt, with a focus on domestic ingredients and water.
