Subject: Animals Material: Wood carving This is a Sasano Itto-bori hawk. It is believed to be from the Taisho to early Showa period, but the exact production date is unknown. The head utilizes the original shape of the wood, so the beak is not clearly visible. You can faintly see the eyes, but they are sooty from being displayed above an irori (sunken hearth). The feathers have hardened and crumbled, so there are fewer of them. It's quite rare, so it's expensive, but I'll sell it for this price. Size: Approximately 19 cm. Shipping will be on weekends.
