This is a style where a pincushion is placed on a deformed round bar screwed to the center of the base, and spools of thread are set up by inserting round bars into six round holes. Base: 25mm thick, 10x12cm with the corners rounded off Round bar: Diameter 1.7-2.2cm, Length 8.4cm Pincushion: A pincushion made of cotton covered with cloth is attached to a wooden plate with a diameter of 7cm and a height of 1.2cm. Thread stand round bar: Diameter 6mm, Length 4cm, 3cm above the base. Total height: 15cm, Weight: 254g The base and pincushion are secured with screws attached to both ends of the round bar. Both round bars were purchased at a home center or craft store, and the material is unknown, but I believe it is oak, white oak, or a similar type of beech. The base material is oak/Nara. Oak is characterized by its beautiful grain, and is heavy, hard, and durable, so it is widely used for furniture, building materials, and sake barrels. The whole product was coated with a wood preservative containing anti-corrosion, insect repellent, and anti-mold agents, and finished with acrylic silicone spray. Since each one is made by hand using household power tools, there may be some burrs and scorch marks on the cross-section of the base, the holes may be slightly misaligned, and there are signs of amateur craftsmanship everywhere. I don't have any special machines or tools, so it's difficult to drill a vertical hole in the center of the round bar, and this is the best I can do with my skills. The difference in price for similar items depends on the material costs, but you may not be able to tell unless you compare them side by side, and it is proportional to my own satisfaction with the finish.
