This is the first edition of a collection of letters by Zen master Takuan Sōhō from 1942. Amidst the availability of reprint editions, this is a very valuable volume published at the time. It includes a censor's seal. The cover and pages show overall yellowing. There are also marks on the back cover where a sticker or similar item was removed.
