This is a knee-length polyester dress. The outer fabric has no sheen, and the lining is smooth. I have worn it to wedding after-parties, etc. It's an A-line dress that flares out towards the hem, so it has a relaxed fit and is comfortable to wear. The black lining prevents it from being see-through. The white parts are more of a muted ivory color than pure white, giving it a calm impression. (The color pattern isn't stark black and white.) I've used it 2-3 times, so it's starting to show some slight pilling.
