I hardly used game cartridges, instead using downloaded games, so there is almost no wear and tear on the cartridge slot. There is a small scratch on the screen from inserting it into the dock, but a protective film has been applied since purchase, so there are no scratches on the main screen. It was used by an adult, so there are no scratches from drops. It has not been taken outdoors. Although a successor model has been released, I think it is still going strong. *Blue light cut glass film applied.
