Due to the thickness of the fabric where it's joined, it might not become perfectly round when shortened... I think it should be fine once it's on the neck, though. My cat tends to get bald spots from collars, so this fabric doesn't seem suitable, and I've decided not to use it. I bought it online, and the fabric was different from what I expected (´・ω・｀) The texture isn't rough, so I think it would be recommended for cats that don't easily get bald spots from collars.
