This film is based on a novel by Hideo Yokoyama, author of "64: Rokuyon" and "Climbers High," and stars Masayoshi Yamazaki, a singer, in his first leading role in 14 years since "August Christmas." Shuichi Makabe, a thief known as a "Nobi-shi," specializes in breaking into homes at night while the residents are asleep. Due to his skillful stealth, the police nicknamed him "Nobikabe." One night, Makabe breaks into the home of a prefectural assembly member and accidentally witnesses an attempted arson murder. This incident triggers memories of a case from 20 years ago that Makabe had suppressed deep within his heart... The film is directed by Tetsuo Shinohara, who also directed Yamazaki's film debut, "Tsuki to Kyabetsu (Moon and Cabbage)."
