REX is designed for functionality and the comfort of the sitter. It's a long-selling model created in 1952 by Slovenian designer Niko Kralj. It is also included in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. In the 1950s, Slovenia, like Japan today, had small houses and living environments where large furniture was difficult to place. The REX chair was created as a chair that could provide a beautiful design and comfortable seating even in such an environment. By gently bending plywood, the back and seat fit the body, and the structure is smart so that it becomes compact when folded. It is a design that transcends time and borders and fits modern Japan as well.
