Compared to the lacquer model, this ocarina is smaller and characterized by a clear, unadulterated tone. The ocarina's sound is crystal clear from high to low notes. There is no noise in the high-pitched "Mi" and "Fa" notes, and it resonates brilliantly. Often, when playing high notes, the sound is difficult to produce unless the instrument is brought close to the body, but with the Focalink ocarina, there is almost no such characteristic. The windway, the path through which breath escapes from the mouthpiece, is made very narrow, making it easy to control the breath and allowing for techniques such as vibrato.
