While Arita ware is also lovely, Hagi ware offers a sense of calm. I think it's wonderful to have a piece of this proud Japanese beauty in your home. The five teacups are new and unused. They have been carefully stored since purchase, and have no cracks. The inside and bottom of the teacups are clean, making them a high-quality item. You can, of course, use them with lacquered tea trays from Yamanaka, or wooden tea trays, but they would also be lovely with fabric coasters like sashiko. The teapot was used twice for guests, with hot water. It has a beautiful floral pattern on the side and lid, and is recommended for both guest use and everyday use.
