This is a set of three extremely thin mekugi (peg) made by processing saibashi (chopsticks). The diameter is approximately 3 to 6 mm, and the length is approximately 4.3 cm. You can fit the mekugi by simply inserting them into the mekugi holes and cutting off the excess, but some adjustment may be necessary as they are pre-made. We received requests that "the mekugi material is too thick and difficult to process," so these are for swords with special small mekugi holes, for cases where the mekugi holes in the tang and the hilt are slightly misaligned, or for temporary mekugi during processing, etc., when thin mekugi are needed. Since they are thinner than regular ones, do not use them for iaito (practice swords) or tameshigiri-to (test-cutting swords) that are subject to high stress.
