This is a brand new, unsewn, rolled Nishijin-ori fukuro obi (formal obi). This obi is woven using the highly detailed "issen happyaku kuchi ori" technique, which beautifully depicts the "karakusa hoshoku saikamon" (arabesque and jeweled flower pattern). The issen happyaku kuchi ori technique uses many colored threads and is costly, so it is only woven by a few manufacturers today. The karakusa hoshoku saikamon is expressed on the obi through the fine weaving of issen happyaku ori. Please note that this is a rolled obi, so the lining and obi core are not included.
