This is likely an old Kyoto-style lacquerware bowl. It features an exquisite design with extremely fine sen-suji (thousand-line) grooves and a beautiful reverse-painted karakusa (Arabesque) maki-e (sprinkled picture). The understated design has a touch of tea-like flavor, and the overall construction is of high quality. Its generous size makes it perfect for ozoni (New Year's soup). There are only minor signs of wear, such as slight discoloration and a few scratches, which are barely noticeable, and the overall condition is good.
