This can be used as a hot pot, even without tempura. This is a new, unused item that was at my parents' house. I brought it here intending to use it, but I already have another one, so I won't be using this one. The box is gone, although I have a picture of it. Upon inspection, there is one small scratch (see photo 5). Although it is new and unused, please refrain from purchasing if you are overly concerned about minor imperfections.
