◇ About the Makers ◇ We sell handmade shinobue flutes crafted by a father and daughter team in Shimane Prefecture, with the father having about 25 years of experience as a shinobue instructor and flute maker. We harvest female bamboo (shino bamboo) growing in the Shizumagawa River (formerly known as the Ginzangawa River), dry it for over three years, and then use it to make shinobue and kagura flutes. ◇ Shipping Method ◇ We will ship via Yu-Pack (Yu-Yu Mercari Bin) within 1-2 days of purchase. If you need it urgently, please leave a comment. ◇ Description ◇ For those starting to play the shinobue, the 8-hon choshi (key) is the basic and most suitable key. ◇ Tuning ◇ Tuned to the Western musical scale of 440Hz, with the upper register (second octave) matched using a tuner, allowing for ensemble playing and performance with other instruments. Tuned to allow for the lower register (first octave), upper register (second octave), and upper-upper register (third octave) to be played by varying breath strength. As these are made from natural bamboo, each flute has its own unique characteristics. Those accustomed to other flute makers' flutes may take some time to master the upper-upper register notes 3 and 4 on these flutes.
