The DENON DN-S3000, a horizontal design compatible with MP3s, with confirmed sound output. It employs the same motor-driven platter mechanism as the DN-S5000, the "Motor Drive Active Platter." This mechanism is composed of a platter (the rotating table part), a slipmat (the sheet under the record), and a scratch disc section, similar to an analog turntable. The platter rotates in accordance with playback, allowing for scratching with an analog feel. Performances such as cueing, back cueing, backspin, and cut-in are also possible. The platter diameter is 190mm. An adapter is also included to use a donut record (17cm analog record) as a scratch disc, allowing for "scratch playback with the feel of a real analog record." It also features a "Platter Effect" that simulates the operation of an analog turntable, with effects such as "Drag Start," which slowly plays from a stopped state, and "Brake," which slowly stops from a playback state. It supports playback of CD-R/RWs containing MP3s, as well as CDDA. Various effects and special playback features like scratching are also possible with MP3s. It also supports CD text display. The drive is slot-in type, and it is equipped with "Hot Start," which instantly starts playback from a specified point, and a "Stutter" function, which plays only while the button is pressed from the point set by Hot Start. It also features a "Seamless Loop" mechanism for looping between specified points and a 15-second sampler function. It has a pitch slider with a 100mm stroke, and you can select the playback pitch from ±4%, ±10%, ±16%, ±24%, ±50%, and ±100%. The KEY ADJUST function also allows you to change only the playback speed without changing the pitch.
