SCIENTIFIK, who made a name for himself among Japanese hip-hop fans with his 1994 release "Criminal," which was produced by DIAMOND D (D.I.T.C.), BUCKWILD, RZA (WU-TANG CLAN), and others. Although he sadly passed away, he recorded many songs under his mentor, ED O.G., and this compilation features those remaining recordings. This record, also known for being handled by JOE MANSFIELD of VINYL REANIMATORS, has a rugged and raw content that encapsulates the sound of the 90's East Coast scene, and it hasn't faded at all even when listening to it again now. In particular, track 6, which uses the same sample as the classic "Memory Lane" (DJ PREMIER Pro.) from NAS's masterpiece "Illmatic," is a masterpiece that is still talked about as an underground classic. This is an album that should be appreciated especially at this time of year.
