Tokoname-yaki, a shudei (red clay) kyusu (small sake bottle/water pitcher). Used as a vessel for sake or water. Size: Approximately 11.5cm in diameter at the circular part, and approximately 9.5cm in height at the handle. It has been displayed without use, so there are no major stains or damage, but as it is an old item, there is some age-related soiling and texture. Features: The beautiful reddish-brown color (shudei) is created by oxidizing the iron-rich clay during firing.
