This is a film adaptation of Seicho Matsumoto's best-selling novel, directed by Hideo Oba. An accounting manager at a company commits suicide. His subordinate, Hagisaki, learns from the suicide note that he was a victim of a plagiarism scam. Since then, Hagisaki sets out to uncover the truth, discovering that the core of the incident extends to a political kingpin.
