Overall, there is some pilling. There are also some frayed areas. The pink is a bit too cute, and it doesn't really suit me, so I'm selling it. I think it's made in India (I received it from an acquaintance overseas). There are no tags, so I'm not certain. It seems to be cotton. Comfortable and not sticky even in summer.
