This is a Kobukusa (old silk cloth). Please use it when serving matcha or as a mat. [Fabric] Pure silk with a smooth texture. The background color is a soft blend of pale pink and pale purple, with depictions of camellias, cherry blossoms, and peonies. The color separation of the kiribame (cut-and-paste) and the expression of the flowing water pattern are techniques reminiscent of Tsujigahana. As this is a Kobukusa, it has been stiffened with interfacing for a crisp finish. [Size] The traditional size of Kobukusa used in the Urasenke school of tea ceremony. Some people also use them in Kodo (incense ceremony). Finished size: Made from a pattern of 5 sun (15.2cm) x 5 sun 3 bu (16.3cm), but please allow for slight variations. [Sewing Method] Three sides are sewn, and the short 5-sun side is a "wa" (folded edge). There are no knotting beads. ❤️ Since it is new, there is no crease in the center. When folding in half, place the "wa" on the right side, choose your preferred side as the front, and fold it in half.
