I have checked the DVDs by fast-forwarding through the entire content to confirm they play. (Please note that playback is not guaranteed as it may vary depending on your equipment.) I didn't find any writing or signs of use, but please forgive any oversight. The latest DWE version has Blu-ray, but they can easily become unplayable with minor scratches. These DVDs are the latest version and from a recent year, so you can use them with confidence. There are many DWE English learning materials, but the Straight Play has a storyline and can be watched all at once, making it perfect for passive listening and enjoyable for a long time. It's said that mastering English requires 2000 hours, and children can get bored. If they lose interest in the DVDs, you can play the CDs or look at the picture books together. This can re-engage them and help them enjoy learning English. Therefore, I recommend this set over just the DVDs! ^_^ Zippy is an all-English DVD, and many children like it more than the main content.
