Some maintenance may be required, but it's still usable. I think it's the level often seen for dojo rentals. There's a hole in the palm of the kote (glove), but it can be used for now. I recommend wearing gloves or using a commercially available repair kit for maintenance. How about it for elementary school beginners, or for a set for those who are unsure if they'll continue?
