My child apparently made ohitashi (boiled and seasoned vegetables) a few times. It seems you can cook with either the pot or the lid. It's a thick aluminum cast pot. It seems you can make everything from steamed dishes to rice. There's an instruction manual and a recipe book. It's not compatible with IH (induction heating). Other heat sources are okay.
