Several years ago, my child (a 4th-grade elementary school student) wore these and hiked the Central Alps (Kiso-Koma to Utsugi-dake), so they are made quite sturdily and are waterproof. I think they can still be used. There are some scratches from use, but they are in relatively good condition. At the time, I bought them because I thought the seamless upper part had excellent waterproof function. They've been outgrown, so I'm selling them now. I brushed them and stored them.
