I have two other navy dresses of a similar shape, so I haven't worn this one. The fabric is smooth. The V-neck isn't very deep, so I don't think you need an undershirt. It makes you look slim. It's not see-through, so you can wear it on its own. It's a slightly darker navy. Please note that there may be wrinkles from home storage, unlike items in stores.
