A valuable, Japanese-made jar from the Showa era. The bottom is marked "Iwami 1st," and I believe it is an Iwami-yaki (pottery) round jar, possibly a "kame" (crock). Suitable for pickling umeboshi (preserved plums), making pickles, miso, etc. It is in beautiful condition, although it's unknown if it was ever used. There are no signs of use or cracks, but please be aware of minor imperfections such as firing marks from the manufacturing process and some dirt from storage.
