French military leather Gurkha sandals. These sandals were primarily issued to the Saharan Company (CSPL) of the French Foreign Legion stationed in Algeria. The CSPL had camel cavalry, and leather sandals were issued to prevent injury to the camels' backs. There are various types of these sandals, and this is a Gurkha type made by Marbout, likely from a 1964 lot. While smaller sizes are sometimes seen, this size is quite rare. Purchased as deadstock and worn a few times. There is a crack on the toe of the right foot. Please check the images for details.
