This is a modern wooden kanzashi (hairpin) with black and muted pink urushi lacquer, decorated with gold flower maki-e (sprinkled picture). Small mother-of-pearl inlay is featured on the back. I purchased it at Hakuichi (Tokyo Aoyama store) in Kanazawa. I am selling it because I no longer wear traditional Japanese clothing. As there is a signature of the artist, I believe it is a maki-e craftwork. I used it about three times and treasured it, so I kept it carefully. There are no noticeable stains or scratches on the main body, but there are some creases and curling on the tissue paper inside the box.
