Mino ware, recommended work by Toki City Mayor Yasunori Ninomiya, painted by Sakurayama, rare, collection Rare Interior Yasunori Ninomiya (1904-1986) Born in Hachiman-cho, Gujo-gun, he worked as the director of the Toki Regional Office in Gifu Prefecture and contributed to the establishment of Toki City in accordance with the Showa Municipal Merger Promotion Law. Highly regarded by local residents for his skills, he served as the first mayor of Toki City for five terms, 20 years, from March 16, 1955, to March 15, 1975. He guided the newly established Toki City in various fields such as industry, education, medical care, and welfare, and during his tenure as mayor, he deepened his relationships with many artists, cultural figures, and business people. From his wide range of friendships, he personally collected ceramics, paintings, calligraphy, letters, etc. Before retiring as mayor, in 1973, he donated them to Toki City as the "Ninomiya Collection." The Toki City Mino Ceramic History Museum held a special exhibition in 2013, "The Gaze of Yasunori Ninomiya, the First Mayor of Toki."
