This is a lacquerware container that came from my grandmother's dressing table. It's a red, round confectionery container with a gold floral pattern. Chrysanthemums are depicted in gold maki-e lacquer. Size: Outer diameter: 9cm Inner diameter: 7cm Outer height: 3cm (lid knob 1cm) It is believed to be lacquerware made of wood coated with lacquer. It is probably more than 50 years old. The lid is cloudy. It was used regularly, so there are scratches, scuffs, and stains. The worst part is the chip on the lid in photo 7. I imagine it was used to hold hair ties and bobby pins. The inside of the container is about the size of a Pringles (Chip Star) box lid. Thank you.
