Author Profile: Born in Ishikari City, Hokkaido. Joined the Yomiuri Shimbun in 1919. Later, in 1926, he moved to the Tokyo Nichinichi Shimbun. While working as a newspaper reporter, he compiled interviews with former retainers of the Tokugawa shogunate under the guidance of Takeshi Osatake and others, publishing "Shinsengumi Shimatsuki" in 1928. Subsequently, he published the "Shinsengumi Trilogy" consisting of "Shinsengumi Ibun" and "Shinsengumi Monogatari," which were later cited by writers such as Ryotaro Shiba and Shotaro Ikenami. Awarded the 10th Kikuchi Kan Prize in 1962. Representative works include the novel "Katsu Kaishu" (the original work for the Taiga drama "Katsu Kaishu"), "Kunitachi Chuji," and the essay "Fukuro Techo" (the original idea for "Zatoichi"). (From Wikipedia) "In the late Edo period, when politics weakened and famines caused by natural disasters frequently occurred, there were chivalrous figures who stood side by side in Edo and its surrounding areas. Sukegoro Iioka of Shimosa, Shigenzo Sasakawa, Kisaburo Sawara, Chuji Kunitachi of Joshu, Masagoro Sagamiya of Edo, Jirocho Shimizu of Suruga, and other wandering heroes... They were also called 'Naga-wakizashi' (long swords) and 'Toseinin' (traveling gamblers). This is a pioneering masterpiece of wandering hero research, tracing their footsteps, which are not recorded in official history, searching through documents, interviewing elders, and getting close to their true image." (Chikuma Shobo) This is a boxed edition of "Yukyo Kidan" by Hiroshi Kamosawa, published by Togen-sha in October 1971 (2nd printing). There is some scuffing on the spine of the box, but the main body has little yellowing, and there are no stains, writing, or library stamps. This book is a valuable complete reprint of "Yukyo Kidan," which was first published in October 1930 and had been out of print for a long time. Please consider purchasing this book, understanding that it is an old book from 53 years ago. ※ The following works by Hiroshi Kamosawa are also for sale: Shinsengumi Shimatsuki Katsu Kaishu (Complete set of 6 volumes) Oyako Daka Bakumatsu Kidan Yukyo Monogatari
