This is a somewhat small "Chouhou Keisei Suzu" (rectangular Keisei inkstone) likely made in the Showa 40s to 50s (1965-1975). Length: Approximately 12.3cm, Width: Approximately 7.6cm, Height: Approximately 1.7cm The hill (where the ink is ground) shows almost no wear, suggesting it wasn't used much. However, there are some peeling and fading on the decorative lacquer on the sides and back, indicating it wasn't completely unused. "Keisei Suzu" is carved on it, and it's unclear what this means, including whether it's related to the avant-garde calligraphy group "Keiseikai."
