Later, it merged with Sarreguemines in 1979. This piece, with the backstamp Lunéville K&G (Lunéville Keller & Guerin), dates from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. The small, rounded, rustic pot is a cooking utensil for baking foie gras and pate in the oven. It's a practical and beautiful vessel, allowing you to cook the ingredients slowly and serve the finished product directly at the table. The baked foie gras and pate were sometimes covered with lard and chilled for short-term preservation. This is a slightly larger pot, with a smooth, glossy cream yellow color and a lion's head knob, giving it a classic and elegant appearance. It is thick and heavy, built for durability. There are a few marks from the manufacturing process and some slight peeling of the glaze, but it is in very good condition considering its age. Originally, it is believed to have had a lid, but the lid was not present when purchased from an antique shop in Tokyo. It is a wonderful object for the kitchen or table, but it is also a recommended item that can be used in daily life for cooking or storing sweets.
