This is a hand-woven fukuro obi (formal obi) by the prestigious [Watabun] company. Founded in 1906 (Meiji 39), they are an established Nishijin-ori (Nishijin textile) manufacturer, with a two-digit number (No. 37) in the Nishijin Textile Industrial Association. They continue to weave easy-to-tie obis based on their philosophy of creative craftsmanship. The elegant classical patterns on a white background make this a perfect summer obi for formal occasions. It features a light texture woven with a see-through fabric. We recommend it for semi-formal attire, adding a touch of individuality with its unparalleled weaving created by the artisans' skills and sophisticated, original design. The signature is located on the lower tip of the obi. It is made without an obi core, resulting in a very light and supple texture.
