This is a suzuri (inkstone) from Miyagi Prefecture. It is made of Gensho stone, which has a history of about 600 years. This inkstone was passed down to me, the third generation, but I am not a calligrapher, so I am putting it up for sale. On the back of the inkstone, the creator's name and "Oshika, Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture" are written. Size: 18 x 12 x 3.5 cm Weight: 1430g It is not new, but it is an inkstone with a sense of time ingrained in it. There are marks from when it was cut, but I think that is also part of its character. It is cracked, but I think it can still be used, so I hope you will use it if you like ink. Please consider purchasing after understanding and agreeing to the above.
