This is a wooden carving folk art doll from the former Takada City (present-day Joetsu City) in Niigata Prefecture. It is a "snow removal doll" depicting daily life in a heavy snowfall area, showing a figure wearing a hat and carrying snow removal tools. The carving mainly features straight-line chamfering, and the clothing and tools are constructed with an emphasis on the overall form rather than detailed elaboration. The non-realistic modeling is a characteristic of Showa-era folk art. Despite its small size, approximately 11cm in height, it is complete with a hat, clothing, legs, and a base, making it a piece suitable for display. The bottom is inscribed in ink with: "Product Name: Snow Removal Doll" "Minamihonmachi, Takada City" There are scuffs, small scratches, and changes in the wood grain due to aging.
