A Confucian scholar of the late Edo period. Born in Atago, Edo, he served Lord Tadakuni of the Hamamatsu domain, and later became a Confucian official of the Edo shogunate. He learned of the Opium War and discussed coastal defense strategies during Perry's arrival. He valued practical learning and discussed current affairs. The cover has uneven coloring due to aging, but the preservation condition is good, and it is a relatively beautiful item.
