Laurier is the French word for bay laurel, which has been cultivated since ancient Greece and Rome, and is symbolic in European culture, even appearing in Greek mythology. This item has a BACCARAT signature molded on it, so it is known to have been manufactured after 1875. It is a model series that is still very popular today, along with the Diamant and Bamboo models, which were made of the same molded crystal. The small size is rare, and it can be used as a container for konpeito (sugar candies), candies, jewelry, or treasures. Also, since it is just the right size for bay laurel leaves, it would be lovely to use in the kitchen.
