■ Product Description ■ [Features & Selling Points] This is a 1940s CRAWFORD Swiss-made hand-wound military watch, acquired in the United States. The Swiss movement has 17 jewels and is a configuration often seen in civilian models used by American soldiers during and after the war. The most significant feature of this piece is the integrated Sweetheart bangle, which was used by American soldiers at the time. The outside is decorated with palm trees, and the inside is engraved with "T.M.P / MIAMI FLORIDA" and a hand-carved name. This is a very interesting piece, closely related to the context of bring-back items from the war. Military watches with this type of bangle were distributed as Sweetheart gifts (for lovers and family) or were often recorded as being purchased at PX (military post exchanges), making them rare items with a different cultural background than the watch itself. Before listing, the watch was tested for 24 hours on a flat surface, and there was almost no daily variation in timekeeping.
