This circuit is specifically designed for a single-coil, single-coil, humbucker layout using a Super 5-way switch. Super 5-way switch Volume pot: Alpha 500k Front + Center tone: Alpha 250k, capacitor Orange Drop 0.047uF Rear tone: Alpha 500k, capacitor Orange Drop 0.022uF Wiring: Belden (some cross-wire) The selector works as follows, from front to rear: Front Front + Center Center Center + Rear (rear humbucker coil tap) Rear The selector's movement automatically coil-taps the rear humbucker in the half-tone position, which is standard wiring. However, the volume and tone values change automatically depending on the selector position. ○ Front Pot: 250k, Capacitor: 0.047uF ○ Front + Center Pot: 250k, Capacitor: 0.047uF ○ Center Pot: 250k, Capacitor: 0.047uF ○ Center + Rear Pot: 250k, Capacitor: 0.047uF ○ Rear Pot: 500k, Capacitor: 0.022uF Previously, with a single volume pot, a 500k pot was used to match the rear humbucker. This made the single-coil pickups sound harsh and high-frequency-oriented. However, because the volume and tone change automatically to match the pickup characteristics, the sound of the rear humbucker remains the same, and the single-coils sound more like a Stratocaster. Not only do the pots have the correct resistance values, but the tone pots also change automatically between 250k and 500k, improving operability and allowing for more detailed tone control. The last photo is the wiring diagram. Connect the pickup + and coil tap wires to the selector. Connect the pickup - and the jack - and string ground to the back of the pot.
