This is a small shelf with a tsume-beni (vermilion lacquer) finish. It has a rectangular top and bottom with rounded corners, supported by four pillars. The top board is larger than the bottom board. This shelf was favored by the 13th generation Sokusai of the Omotesenke school. Suitable for both Furo (portable brazier) and Ro (sunken hearth) use. Size: Height 36cm Top board: 36.2cm x 32.8cm Bottom board: 31.5cm x 28.2cm There are no visible scratches on the top and bottom boards, but there is a chip on the board supporting the top board (see photo 6).
