This is a Pomarico transparent mouthpiece. It's made of crystal glass, not plastic, so it has a solid weight. Compared to ebonite, which is typically used for mouthpieces, crystal is more resistant to wear and tear and less prone to aging. Contrary to its appearance, it produces a very soft sound. It differs greatly in tone from metal mouthpieces, which are also wear-resistant. The tip opening is a size 2, which is relatively narrow. Based on the narrow opening and my own experience playing it, it's a mouthpiece that, contrary to its appearance, is very well-suited for classical music. Since the ligature size is between soprano and alto, I recommend a ligature that can be adjusted in size (such as a string or a Silverstein). This mouthpiece is rarely available on the market.
