Once upon a time, there was a legendary tableware shop called "Rozan" in Nishi-Ogikubo... It featured pottery by ceramic artists, antique vessels, and antique tools, as well as works by the shop owner, Fumihiko Oshima. This is a paperweight made by Mr. Oshima. Small yet with a moderate weight, it's charming, fun, and easy to use – a masterpiece created with the "user's feelings" in mind, as expressed by Mr. Oshima, who has also written books on lifestyle crafts. It's a piece that is characteristic of Mr. Oshima, who is also famous as an iron artist. Although it seems to have been made as a paperweight, I think it would also be lovely as a small decoration.
