This is Kena Wind Workshop. This is a D-pipe quenacho made from Houraichiku bamboo harvested in southern Kyushu. It is 520 mm long, with an outer diameter of about 26.4 mm and an inner diameter of about 20 mm near the mouthpiece. The finger holes are a maximum of about 11.5 mm. The mouthpiece has a unique shape, filed with a flat file, but it is often used in our workshop's quenachos because it improves the low-range extension. This quenacho, though slightly slender, is a fine flute that resonates well from the low notes. The pitch is tuned assuming 440 at a temperature of 20 degrees Celsius, but it will be around 442-443 in a room temperature of 27 degrees Celsius. Please understand that there is considerable individual variation as it changes significantly depending on how you use your breath.
