It produces a warm, mellow, and deep sound, suitable for small ensembles and chamber music. -- End of quote I purchased this but am selling it because it didn't suit the sound I was looking for. Personally, I thought it was best suited for classical music. The condition is as good as when I bought it, as I only tried it out for about 5 minutes. There is some fading of the text due to age and use, some rust on the metal plate, and some blackening of the metal parts, but it seems to have been used with care, and the screw moves very smoothly.
