It has been stored at home, unused. There is slight rust on the bottom, the base of the handle, and the base of the lid knob (see photos). This is due to long-term storage, but it should not affect use. Unlike iron kettles, teapots cannot be placed directly on a fire. To prevent rusting with daily use, the inside is enameled. Nanbu Tekki enhances the flavor of tea. The heat retention of Nanbu Tekki teapots keeps the tea at the perfect temperature for brewing delicious tea.
