Purchased 5 years ago and used above the dining table. I didn't see any scratches, but the silver parts have some rust. It works fine and can still be used. As shown in the photos, the cord was always bound with cable ties, so there are marks from them. I will ship it as is, without cutting them. Light bulbs are not included.
